Online Marketing Tactics - Training & Resources
Let's continue with our training from the previous page on online marketing tactics...
We have up to this point discussed on-page search engine optimization and analysis, now it's time
to analyze what are some of the better strategies for effective off-page search engine marketing techniques.
Off-Page SEO
Now this is a very controversial and much debated topic on what exactly are the most effective
off-page search engine marketing tactics. But what it really comes down to is that you want to use a
combination of the various online marketing tactics that are available. Let's start off talking about article
marketing...
Article Marketing
According to most internet marketing guru's, article marketing continues to be not only one of the
most popular off-page search engine marketing techniques, but also one of the most effective.
(Internet) Business Directories
Another really popular off-site search engine marketing strategy are business directories (aka
internet directories). And probably two of the most well known and effective directories are the Open
Directory Project (DMOZ) and the Yahoo Directory (subscription fee version).
Most experienced internet marketer's will tell that if you can get your web site or sites listed in
these two directories that it is as good as gold.
Web 2.0
Probably one of the hottest and fastest growing off-site marketing strategies is Web 2.0 (aka
social networking or social media). I personally have yet to add this strategy to my arsenal but
plan on doing so very soon. Here are some of the top Web 2.0 sites:
YouTube.com -- Blogger.com -- WordPress.com -- twitter.com -- flickr.com -- digg.com -- ehow.com --
HubPages.com --
Blogs
Making comments on blogs is another technique that internet marketer's use as a strategy for
their off-site SEO marketing. This tactic use to be my number one off-page search engine marketing tactic,
but I'm starting to phase this out, and or use less and less because it has just not gotten the link juice I
thought it would. But, that being said, it does provide a little link juice and I would still recommend
using it.
Other online marketing tactics include posting comments on forums, press releases, pay
per click and banner advertising.
The key to successful off-site search engine marketing is using a combination of the
tactics above, testing and seeing which one works best for you. If for example you have a web site
selling a physical product or service, then using a combination of article marketing, pay per click and banner
advertising would be your best bet.
One final note regarding pay per click and banner advertising. I personally have never used
either one of these marketing techniques for my web business because it is very complex and you have to really know
what your doing for this type of marketing to be effective... Because you can lose your shirt on it if you
don't know what your doing!
But, that being said, I do have some free $100 google adword credits that I will be using, thus I
will be experimenting and testing it for the first time. There are probably some really good courses on the
internet that teaches you how to use effective pay per click advertising campaigns. Make sure you do your
homework on this before trying it out.
